Retroactive Stop Loss Pay

Did you or somebody you love serve under a Stop Loss order between Sept. 11, 2001 and Sept. 30, 2009? If so, you have money coming your way, but you have to do the paperwork to get it.

Congress passed an act that gives service members from all branches that served a Stop Loss, or involuntary extension of service, to an additional or retroactive $500 per month of service under a Stop Loss order. So far only about half of the $530 million dollars set aside for this has been claimed.

Go to this website, or contact your local service office and get the Department of Defense form 2944, it is the Claim for Retroactive Stop Loss Payment.  The deadline to file your claim is December 3, 2010, so don't wait!

From Ask Gayla, we offer our deepest gratitude for the service you've given.
